Twill Weave Fiberglass Cloth
Twill weave fiberglass cloth with superior drapeability and aesthetic finish. Ideal for complex mold shapes and decorative applications.
Key Features
- Excellent drapeability
- Aesthetic twill pattern
- Complex mold compatible
- Custom weights available
Overview
Twill weave fiberglass cloth is an E-glass, alkali-free fabric woven in a diagonal twill pattern that gives it superior drapeability compared with plain weave. This flexibility lets the cloth conform to complex mold shapes and compound curves without wrinkling, making it the preferred reinforcement for parts with intricate geometry.
The twill pattern also produces an attractive surface, so the fabric is used in decorative FRP applications as well as structural ones. Custom weights are available to suit different thickness and strength requirements, and the alkali-free composition ensures good chemical resistance for parts exposed to demanding environments.
The cloth wets out readily with polyester, vinyl ester, and epoxy resins and suits hand lay-up, vacuum bagging, and infusion. Where conformability and finish are priorities, twill weave is the natural choice over a stiffer plain weave.

Frequently Asked Questions
When is twill weave preferred over plain weave?
Twill weave is chosen when the fabric must drape over complex molds and compound curves without wrinkling, and when an attractive diagonal surface pattern is desired.
Can the twill cloth weight be customized?
Yes. Custom weights are available so the cloth can be matched to the thickness and strength requirements of the specific part.
What resins are compatible with the twill cloth?
It wets out readily with polyester, vinyl ester, and epoxy resins and works in hand lay-up, vacuum bagging, and infusion processes.
