  • Multiple weight options
  • Balanced strength
  • Versatile applications

Overview

Plain weave fiberglass cloth is a versatile E-glass, alkali-free fabric offered in 200g, 400g, and 600g weights. The over-under plain weave locks the yarns into a stable, balanced structure that delivers equal strength in both directions, making it a dependable general-purpose reinforcement for FRP, electronics, and board applications.

The alkali-free E-glass composition provides good electrical insulation and chemical resistance, which is why the lighter weights are widely used in printed circuit board and electrical laminate production, while the heavier 400g and 600g grades reinforce structural FRP panels and moldings. The tight weave holds its shape during cutting and lay-up and produces flat, dimensionally stable laminates.

Compatible with polyester, vinyl ester, and epoxy resins, the cloth wets out cleanly in hand lay-up, vacuum bagging, and infusion. Its combination of balanced strength, electrical properties, and availability across multiple weights makes it one of the most broadly applicable fiberglass fabrics.

Frequently Asked Questions

What weights does the plain weave cloth come in?

It is available in 200g, 400g, and 600g weights, covering everything from electronics and board laminates to heavier structural FRP reinforcement.

What does alkali-free E-glass provide?

Alkali-free E-glass offers good electrical insulation and chemical resistance, which makes the cloth suitable for both electrical/electronic laminates and corrosion-exposed FRP parts.

Is plain weave cloth suitable for electronics?

Yes. The lighter weights are widely used in printed circuit board and electrical laminate production thanks to the E-glass insulating properties and balanced, stable weave.
